Proving the adage that there is strength in numbers, healthcare providers in the state of New Mexico have created the “New Mexico Telehealth Alliance” (NMTA) and begun to reap the benefits of working together.

Dr. Arturo Gonzales is the president of the non-profit, all volunteer organization and Joie Glenn serves as vice president. They spent a few minutes with HCTR during the recent American Telemedicine Association annual meeting in San Antonio to describe early accomplishments in both the areas of patient care and remote training. We captured the conversation on video for our readers.

NMTA was formed to bring together New Mexico healthcare providers interested in home telehealth issues to discuss opportunities, regulations and funding opportunities and to share resources and promote the use of telehealth systems throughout the state. Members include the University of New Mexico, Optum Health, the New Mexico Home Care and Hospice Association and Loveless Health Foundation.
